According to the war diary they were in the St Jean area of Ypres, raiding towards St Julian. On 26th April they were shelled all day long as the Germans attempted, with little success, to destroy their wire entanglements. Casualties were low considering the number of shells bursting on and around them, men suffered considerably from the poisonous gas fumes given off by the enemy' shells.

"Casualties were low" by the war diary, but 44 were killed according to CWGC, and only one has an identified grave.
